Pros and Cons

First week of classes.

TNUA students rehearsing at Lunch time in the main foyer of the dance building. Celine (blue) and Anita (green) rehearsing with the rest of the Juniors and Seniors for a performance at Taipei main station soon. In these pictures they are busting it out to Beyonce!

Studio 5 at TNUA. The polar opposite of Studio 5 at the National Theatre. There is so much natural light and the views are so distracting!

I will get better pictures of the views soon.

Our timetable this week has been pretty crazy because we are trialling classes that we might like to take this semester. Each class is 100minutes long and they are all intense! We are taking between 2 and 4 classes a day with two 2.5hour rehearsal slots at night.
I don't think any of us have been this sore and fatigued ever before!

We had an Eastern class this morning with an old lady who had a cane almost as tall as she was that she used for pocking, prodding, demonstrating, and banging on the floor to keep time during exercises. She is fantastic! We stretched for a good 40 minutes and then did about 200 high kicks.

It can't all be sunshine and high kicks though.
The dance department is situated about half way down the hill that the campus of TNUA sits on. Each lunchtime or evening when I have finished classes there are a seemingly never ending assortment of stair cases that must be climbed to get to anywhere else on campus!

When I get out  of the dance building and I see all these stairs... I really just want to do this.

I am loving the classes and hating the stairs with equal passion right now!

BUT! This will be me, in January.
